Emergency Assistance in Central Dover Continues in 2018

The Grant Award

In early November, CenDel Foundation announced that it will award $200,000 in grants from the Benjamin Potter Trust, a fund of the Delaware Community Foundation, to several nonprofit organizations in Central Delaware. This funding aims at providing Kent County residents increased access to emergency housing and home repairs, health care, and more. NCALL Research will receive $40,000 to continue providing access to emergency help making a mortgage, rent, and/or utility payment to residents in the Restoring Central Dover target area.

Emergency Assistance for Central Dover

Residents in the Restoring Central Dover target area will be able to receive this emergency assistance to cover the cost of their rent and utilities one time per year. The funding will be available starting November 1st. Payments will be made to the lender, landlord or utility company. In an effort to reach those in need, NCALL has partnered with Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance (IMA) and the city of Dover to recognize families in need of help maintaining their home and utilities such as electricity. To receive this funding recipients must meet with an NCALL Financial Coach trained and specializing in the Fresh Start program through $tand by Me. Coaches are ready and available.
