"Doing together what we cannot do alone"

The Delaware Rural Housing Consortium was formed in 1997 as an alliance of seven (7) rural nonprofit housing organizations to explore ways to work together, coordinate housing activities, share staff and experience, work together on public relations and legislative initiatives ,shop collectively for goods and services, and receive joint housing technical assistance and fundraising services.

This state-of-the-art model of collaboration and partnering promises to foster continued successful rural housing development in Delaware. Amidst federal funding reductions and numerous obstacles to rural housing development, this alliance promises to work at increased state and local resources, while making the development process as friendly as possible. Heralded as an idea whose time has come, the Consortium will help reduce the isolation often experienced by rural organizations, while empowering seven organizations to do together what they cannot do alone.

Each member organizations appointed two persons to the Consortium's Steering Committee which meets monthly to establish goals, review reports, and carry out joint operations.

NCALL Research is the administering agency for the Consortium.
