NCALL Loan Fund assists in bringing new public library to southern Delaware
Delmar, DE – The public is encouraged to attend a ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony on Wednesday, April 24 at 10:30am for the new and long anticipated Delmar Public Library.
Delmar Public Library has been working hard to secure funds for the project since 2007. In 2015, NCALL Loan Fund provided the Library a construction line of credit loan in the amount of $3.5 million. The NCALL Loan Fund finances projects for the development of affordable housing, community facilities, and neighborhood revitalization. Joining the Loan Fund in the construction financing were participant lenders The Bank of Delmarva and M&T Bank.
Since the grand opening of the new Library this year, the spacious state-of-the-art building has become a popular spot for people of all ages. It’s a great resource for exploring new topics, studying, homework help, and more!
NCALL Loan Fund Director, Karen Kollias, said the new library is great for the community. “We were happy to work with the library and assist with funding for the project,” she said. “It’s a beautiful, welcoming building, and a great place for people of all ages to learn, read and explore.”
The library is open varying hours Monday through Saturday. If you would like to attend the dedication ceremony, please RSVP to Susan Upole at 302-846-9894 ext. 3 or Susan.Upole@lib.de.us or Jessica Webb at 302-846-9894 ext. 4 or Jessica.Webb@lib.de.us.
