NCALL Receives Strong Neighborhoods Housing Funding
On March 13, 2017 Governor John Carney and Delaware State Housing Authority (DSHA) awarded NCALL Research with $1,000,000 in Strong Neighborhood Housing Funds (SNHF), a source of funding designed to target efforts that support community development and transform neighborhoods.
The SNHF award will support the development of 20 new construction homes in the Restoring Central Dover area. Central Delaware Habitat for Humanity (pictured right with DSHA Executive Director Anas Ben Addi and NCALL's Joe Myer and Karen Speakman) will be a builder partner for the new homes. The construction costs of these houses will be subsidized to lower the mortage amount to the homebuyer and make energy-efficient, new construction homeownership an affordable option for Central Dover.
